San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department Initial CCW Training

Fight or Flight offers this training through the Hi-Desert Rod and Gun Club.

This is the 16 hour CCW Initial  Course

IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER COURSE

To apply for an INITIAL CCW permit, you are required to complete a 16-hour training course, conducted over two 8-hour days, and pass the necessary qualification. All applicants must train with a certified vendor approved by the San Bernardino Sheriff. The Hi-Desert Rod and Gun Club is an authorized training provider, with Fight or Flight operating under its oversight.

The initial training program consists of two full days, combining classroom instruction with live firearm qualification. Prior to attending, applicants must already possess the skills to safely draw from a concealed position, engage targets with a minimum level of accuracy, and pass with a score of at least 80%. Additionally, firearm handling will be evaluated to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Course Overview:

Day 1: Dive into essential topics such as CCW laws, self-defense liability insurance, fear management, selecting the right equipment, handling the aftermath of defensive shootings, and addressing mental health and suicide awareness through an open and critical discussion.

Day 2: Gain practical knowledge on firearm transportation by car or plane, improve situational awareness, navigate police interactions with confidence, explore handgun modifications, complete a written exam, and meet firearm qualification requirements.
